Current World and AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed has joined the Rockstar Makita Suzuki factory team in America, and by doing so will rekindle a relationship with Suzuki Australia that commenced more than a decade ago.
Having raced Suzuki RMs in his junior days, Reed began his professional career by signing with Suzuki Australia in 1998.
Reed then went on to clinch the Australian Supercross title with Suzuki in 1999 aboard an RM250 before venturing to Europe and then the USA to further his stellar career.
The Australian makes the move back to the Suzuki stable to contest the 2009 AMA Supercross Series in the US where he will pilot Suzuki's fuel-injected RM-Z450.
As part of his commitment to the all-new Australian Supercross Championship, Reed will also contest all Super X rounds in Australia.
"I rode Suzukis throughout my amateur career before heading to Europe."
"It's great to be working with Jay Foreman again. I rode for his team as a junior in 1997 and in the senior ranks in 1998/99 and we've remained good friends," he said.
Team Shift Motul Suzuki's Team Manager Jay Foreman mentored Reed from an early age and is ecstatic to have Reed back with Suzuki.
"Chad and I built up a great relationship when he first started out and we kept in regular touch. He's obviously a prodigious talent and to have him back on a Suzuki is just a fantastic result," said Foreman.
