Chad Reed (Suzuki) has decimated the opposition in round one of the Australasian Supercross Championship, aka SuperX, at the Kwinana Motorplex in Perth this afternoon.

The two-time world supercross champion was merciless, winning the 20-lap final by a staggering 25.100 seconds over defending champion Daniel Reardon (Honda), with Jay Marmont (Yamaha) finishing a lonely third.

Such was Reed’s speed that only fourth-placed Cheyne Boyd (Yamaha) was the only other rider who didn’t get lapped by the winner.
&nbsp;
Reed’s best lap was 53.905, over a second faster than Reardon’s best effort (54.921).
&nbsp;
“That was awesome out there,” Reed said. ”It was so satisfying to see it all finally come together. This was my first Supercross race on a Suzuki so I just tried to check out and watch for lapped traffic.“I know these guys will step it up between now and Adelaide and I am sure the new Super Sprint format will throw up some interesting results."
Former runner-up in the world 250cc motocross title, Andrew McFarlane, rounded on the top five on his Yamaha, just in front of Reed’s cousin, Craig Anderson (Honda).

In the SX Lites class, it was a Moss quinella, with American-based Jake (Yamaha) completing the 15-lap final with an eight-second cushion over sibling, Matt (Suzuki).
&nbsp;
Tye Simmonds (KTM), Lawson Bopping (Suzuki) and Adam Monea (Suzuki) completed the top five.
&nbsp;
SuperX will be held over seven rounds in 2008, with legendary American&nbsp; rider Jeremy McGrath set to compete in the final two encounters at Townsville and Brisbane.
&nbsp;
The next instalment will be held at the Adelaide Showground on October 18, followed by the Victorian regional city of Geelong a week later.
&nbsp;
In addition to the traditional multi-lap final, SuperX is adopting a number of other race formats in its inaugural year, including Super Sprint, Triple Challenge, Survival and Man on Man.
