Red Bull X-Fighters coming to Oz

The prestigious invitation-only event is on its way Down Under in 2011, but the location still remains a mystery

The world’s most decorated freestyle motocross competition, Red Bull X-Fighters, will be making its first appearance in Australia next year.

Australia will host the sixth and final leg on September 17, following events in the UAE (April 15), Brazil (May 28), Italy (June 24), Spain (July 15) and Poland (August 6).

An announcement is expected on the Australian location in coming weeks and, based on locales in other countries, we expect it will be a humdinger. The banks of Sydney Harbour perhaps? The Kalgoorlie super pit? Uluru? We shall await an official word.

Australia’s Robbie Maddison is an X-Fighters competitor and he finished sixth overall in 2010, with American Nate Adams the champion.
