Rare Ducati models go under the hammer

The latest Shannons auction is jam-packed with rare finds and bargain gems

The latest Shannons online auction is set to attract plenty of attention, with a rare 1996 Ducati 916 Senna headlining the list of desirable motorcycles for sale.

In fact, there is a wide array of Ducatis on offer, with a well-known Queensland Ducati enthusiast opening up his collection for auction for the first time.

Other impressive models in the auction include a concours-standard restored 1974 750 Sport, a 2009 1098R Troy Bayliss LE, and a 2013 848 Evo Corse Special Edition. The 750 Sport is the only bike in the collection with a reserve price.

Also up for sale is an array of British post-war machines including a 1937 Brough Superior SS80 and a 1948 Vincent HRD Rapide Series B, both of which are expected to go for $80,000 to $100,000. There are also five Matchless models for sale, as well as AJS, Triumph, Sunbeam, and Ariel machines.

And the auction doesn’t just stop with Italy and the UK. Other desirable models include a 1929 Indian Type 101 750cc and a 1956 BMW R50 that is retrofitted with a Steib Sidecar. There is also 1998 Suzuki GSX-R1100, a 1975 CBX1000, a 1975 Kawasaki Z900, and a rare 1975 Suzuki RE5.

The Shannons timed online winter auction is on now and runs until August 22. The full listings can be viewed at the Shannons website.
