Yamaha’s Dean Ferris continued his outstanding start to the 2018 MX Nationals with a clean sweep of MX1 victories in round two at Appin (NSW) on Sunday, April 29.
Ferris’ two wins saw him bank 70pts as he claimed the overall ahead of KTM pair Kirk Gibbs (60) and Luke Clout (58). Dylan Long (Yamaha, 58) and Brett Metcalfe (56) saw out the top five.

Ferris has now won all four motos contested in the opening two rounds and leads the championship by 13pts over Gibbs.
“Another good day for myself and the team,” Ferris said. “Appin has always been good to me and, since my return to Australia in 2016, I have won here so I always enjoy racing this track.”
There is now a two-week break before the championship resumes with a double-header (rounds three and four) in Wonthaggi (Vic) on May 19-20.
