Racing: 2010 Manual of Motorcycle Sport now online

All the rules and guidelines

If you're planning on competing at a domestic level this year, the

from the Motorcycling Australia (MA) website.

All motorcycle competition is conducted according to the manual, and includes the General Competition Rules as well as other relevant information.

Rule changes made in the last 12 months have been bolded, and rule deletions from the last 12 months have been struck through.

Previous editions of the manual are also available to download.

Meanwhile, in other racing news:

  • The allocation of different types of competition licences will now be streamlined. Under the proposal, senior national and senior club licenses will roll into a single senior licence in 2011, with the same structure for juniors. In 2012, the senior and junior competition licenses will combine to form a single licence with the same price point. Senior and junior restricted licences will remain unchanged; and
  • Following the announcement of decibel reductions for off-road competitions from the FIM, MA will investigate and consider similar reductions. The possibility of including and implementing these changes in 2011 will be discussed at the annual MA Commissions and Committees meeting, scheduled to take place from March 26-28.
