The Quad Lock Moto Mount utilises a unique dual-stage lock that is designed to keep your device secure. A special phone case is placed on the mount and locked with a simple twisting motion. There are a range of different cases available, depending on your phone.
We have been testing the Quad Lock system both on road and off road, and it has worked a charm.
Versatility – You can fix the Moto Mount in a range of different positions. There are three different options to choose from including a handlebar mount, mirror mount and fork stem mount. We’ve been using the Handlebar Mount, with the Mirror and Fork Stem mounts purchased separately. The Handlebar and Mirror kits also come with three rubber spacers that can be used depending on the thickness of the ‘bar or mirror arm. The case can also be locked in both portrait and landscape positions.
Secure – The mount is incredibly secure. We have ridden both on the tarmac and dirt without the slightest hint of the phone wiggling loose. The phone also remains stable, so you can still clearly see the screen without any unwanted shakiness. And when you add the Quad Lock ‘Poncho’ (purchased separately), your device will be rain proof too.
Easy to use – The stand-out benefit of the Quad Lock system is its ease of use. Mounting the interface on the ‘bar requires only an Allen key and two screws, while mounting the phone onto the interface requires a simple twist motion. Removing the phone involves pressing down on the unique blue tab, which acts as a release mechanism.
Throw your phone case away – Perhaps we are being picky, but not being able to keep your phone its current case is a little annoying. The nature of the Quad Lock system is that you have to use the special Quad Lock case. Of course, this maximises security by having the case connect directly to the mount, but it was sad to say goodbye to my favourite wallet-style phone cover.
Twist function – In theory, locking the phone/case onto the mount is very quick and easy, but occasionally it can be a bit fiddly. The idea is to line the male and female connection points up perfectly, which isn’t always easy. But it’s not a major concern – I’m just being picky again.
Overall the Quad Lock Moto Mount is a versatile, secure and easy-to-use phone mount that solves multiple problems. Now you don’t need to pull over to check Google Maps or make a phone call, and you can rest easy knowing your phone is secure on the handlebar.
