Product recall: Piaggio Zip 50 4T

A potentially faulty throttle cable sees 54 affected models recalled

Piaggio Australia has issued a product safety recall for its 2018-model-year Piaggio Zip 50 4T moped, the notice affecting 54 of the scooters sold between March 1, 2019, and June 30, 2019.

What are the defects?

The throttle control cable may break.

What are the hazards?

The scooter may decelerate rapidly, increasing the risk of an accident or injury to the rider.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should contact their nearest authorised Piaggio dealer and arrange a time for the throttle cable to be modified or replaced free of charge.

See your nearest Piaggio dealership for more information or click here to view the full Australian Competition & Consumer Commission recall notice, including a list of affected VIN numbers.
