Product recall: Ninja 650 and ER-6N

Related to the rider's foot being obstructed from the rear brake lever

Kawasaki Motors Pty Ltd has issued a recall on its Ninja 650R and ER-6F (including LAMS) for models imported between March 2009 and July 2010.

The defect is as follows:

"It is possible that the top of the motorcycle rider's shoe cold hit the right lower fairing while braking. This obstruction may result in the rider not being able to apply the brake effectively and slow down creating the risk of a motor incident."

Consumers should contact their authorised Kawasaki dealer to get the necessary repairs completed free of charge.

The official model codes for the 650R are EX650C9F and EX650C9FL (VIN range JKAEXEC1#9DA21533 - JKAEXEC1#9DA46968, and for the ER-6N it's EX650DAF and EX650DAFL (VIN range JKAEXED1#ADA53347 - JKAEXED1#ADA61155).

About 440 models are affected by the recall.
