The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has issued a product safety recall for the KTM 790 Adventure and KTM 790 Adventure R.
"Due to a possible material failure of the rear brake line as a result of overheating, the rear brake system can fail," states the notice.
"If the rear brake system fails due to continuous heavy braking there is reduced braking ability or effectiveness. This can increase a risk of an accident to the rider, pillion passenger or other road users."
The recall affects a total of 683 motorcycles sold here between April 30, 2019, and April 2, 2020.

Though far from a major issue, the recall is an unfortunate misstep for the universally well-received machines. The KTM 790 Adventure R was recently crowned 2019 Bikesales Bike of the Year.
Owners of the affected models will be contacted by mail about the recall. Owners should then contact an authorised KTM dealer to arrangement for replacement of the faulty parts.
