Product recall: KTM 1290 Super Duke R

The internal overflow pipe in some fuel tanks may not be completely enclosed by plastic, with a resultant fuel leak

KTM Australia has issued a product safety recall on the 2014 model 1290 Super Duke R.

The defect relates to the internal overflow pipe in some fuel tanks not being completely enclosed by plastic. This may lead to a fuel leak, exposing riders to hazardous fumes and posing a potential fire hazard.

The recall is for bikes sold from October 1, 2013 until July 3, 2015.

Owners should not ride their bike, and instead contact an authorised KTM dealer to make a booking for the vehicle to be checked.
