Honda has issued a safety recall for all CRF450R motocrossers sold between October 1, 2015 and August 15, 2017, with a defective transmission countershaft gear cited as the problem.
According to the published recall, the countershaft fifth gear which is used for engaging third gear may break. It goes on to say that if that happens, the transmission may seize and cause the rear wheel to lock.
