Product recall: Honda CBR300R, CRF250L and CBF300N

Main shaft issue could potentially lead to gear damage

Honda Australia has issued a product safety recall for three of its models: the CBF300N (MY2019), CBR300R (MY2018) and CRF250L (MY2017).

The recall affects a total of 186 motorcycles – click here for a list of the VIN numbers concerned.

What are the defects?

The groove on the main shaft was incorrectly manufactured and is oversized, possibly resulting in the circlip loosening and causing gear damage.

What are the hazards?

If the gear is damaged, the motorcycle may stall or lock by the rear wheel, increasing the risk of an accident and serious injuries to road users.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should contact their nearest Honda Motorcycle Dealer and arrange for their motorcycle to be taken to the dealer for inspection and repair at no charge.

The affected bikes were sold nationally from June 1, 2018, to February 28, 2019. See your nearest Honda dealership for more information.
