The Australian Competiton & Consumer Comission has issued a safety recall for the MY2018-2020 CRF1000 and CRF1100 Africa Twin Adventure Sports models.
The recall concerns a fault from the manufacturing of the fuel tank and affects 745 units sold nationally between April 1 2018 and 31 July 2020.
Details of the product recall are as follows:
During manufacturing of the fuel tank, the zinc oxide generated by the tank seam welding process may have dislodged, accumulating in the fuel pump's suction filter. This may clog the filter and affect engine operation.
The engine may not accelerate smoothly and may stall. This can increase the risk of an accident, resulting in injury or death to the rider or bystanders.
