Harley-Davidson has issued a product recall for 13 model variants across its 2014 and 2015 Touring range, related to an issue with the hydraulic clutch.
The defect has been described as follows: "The hydraulic clutch system may exhibit a condition in which it may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch after being parked for an extended period."
If the defect occurs, it could lead to a loss of control when the bike is started in gear or first shifted into gear, posing an accident hazard to the rider and other road users.
The models affected by the recall include the following model variants: FLHTCU, FLHTCU TC, FLHTCUL, FLHTCUL TC, FLHTK, FLHTKL, FLHTP, FLHX, FLHXS, FLTRX, FLTRXS, FLHRSE, FLHXSE
Consumers should contact their nearest Harley Davidson dealer to confirm whether their motorcycle is affected and to arrange for repairs to be carried out.
