MW has been hit with issuing yet another recall, this time relating to its R nineT. According to the notice, screws which have been incorrectly torsioned could potentially result the swingarm becoming lose in the motorcycle’s frame.
When contacted by Bikesales, BMW Australia’s Nigel Harvey was quick to point out the recall only relates to the base model of the R nineT and doesn’t affect any of the model’s variants, such as the Racer, Scrambler or Pure. And despite the severity off the potential consequences, Harvey assured Bikesales it was a simple and quick fix, with the retightening of two screws being all that’s needed to rectify the problem.
It’s the latest in a string of global recalls which has plagued the manufacturer during the last 12 months. A list of affected VIN numbers can be found on the government’s product safety recall website, or concerned owners can contact their local dealership directly.
