Honda Australia has released pricing details for the new CBR1000RR and CBR1000RR SP Fireblade, which are due to arrive in Australian showrooms in May 2017.
The base-model Fireblade, also the 25th Anniversary edition of the Honda's production sporting flagship, will go for $22,499 plus on-roads, while the up-spec CBR1000RR SP will go on sale at $28,499 plus on-roads.
Honda is making some bold claims regarding the new Fireblade, which begin with a power increase of 10hp coupled with a weight reduction of 15 kilograms. The manufacturer also says around 90 per cent of the model's components are new, while ABS is available as standard.
The bike also comes with a high level of electronics, including Honda Selectable Torque Control, Selectable Engine Brake, Riding Mode Select System and Power Selector.
The standard (25th Anniversary) CBR1000RR will be available in Matte Ballistic Black Metallic or Victory Red.
The SP version (pictured) features a semi-active Öhlins Electronic Control system system (over the standard bike's Showa setup), a titanium exhaust system and the first lithium ion battery to appear in a motorcycle, along with a new ABS system and a quickshifter.
The CBR1000RR SP will be available in a distinctive tri-colour paint scheme.
