Pricing announced for new Gixxers

Suzuki Australia has released pricing for its new 2017 GSX-R1000 and top-spec GSX-R1000R

Ahead of their arrival later this year, Suzuki Australia has announced pricing for its new flagship sportsbikes, the 2017 GSX-R1000 and limited-production GSX-R1000R.

The base-model GSX-R1000 will be priced at $21,990 plus on-roads when it reaches Aussie dealerships in late June, while the GSX-R1000R – due to get here in October – will be priced at $25,490 plus on-roads.

First unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle expo in Italy in November 2015, the international launch for the sixth generation of GSX-R1000 was held here in Australia last February. Click here to read our review of the newcomers.

Suzuki says the 2017 GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R are the most powerful, hardest-accelerating and cleanest-running GSX-Rs ever built, the models boasting smoother throttle response, smarter electronics and cleaner combustion.

The new Suzuki GSX-R1000 will be available in Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Black No. 2 and Pearl Mira Red, while the top-spec GSX-R1000R will be available in Metallic Triton Blue or Glass Sparkle Black.

Both models are backed by Suzuki’s two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
