KTM’s young enforcer Toby Price has captured his second consecutive Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE) in Mackay (Qld), with the event finishing on July 10.
The 23-year-old from Singleton (NSW) led from the outset on his 350 EXC-F, and sealed victory ahead of 2008 champion Chris Hollis (Yamaha) and 18-year-old Matt Phillips (Yamaha).
Price stretched his winning margin out to 67 seconds in yesterday’s final motocross leg.
“It’s been a great week after backing up from Hattah and that definitely made it a bit harder this year,” Price said. “I’m stoked to be able to hold onto that No. 1 plate for another year. I’ve already been thinking of a third win here at the A4DE, even though it only just finished today. Hopefully we’re back to do it again next year!”
A superb final day by Italian Alex Salvini (Husqvarna) – fully understandable considering that’s he’s a two-time world motocross runner-up – saw him pinch fourth overall from Daniel Milner (Yamaha) by just over two seconds, with Stefan Merriman (Yamaha) also close behind in sixth.
In the individual classes, Salvini got up ahead of Merriman and Kirk Hutton (Yamaha); in E2 it was Price from Hollis and Milner; and in E3 Phillips was too slick, with Jarrod Bewley (KTM) and Nicholas Beattie (Honda) rounding out the podium.
