Toby Price has produced another towering performance in the off-road arena by winning the 2015 Hattah Desert Race in Victoria on June 4-5.
After taking out the prologue on Saturday, Price's red-hot form continued into the main gam, as he completed the event in three hours, 35 minutes and 22 seconds (3.35:22) on his 500EXC to finish ahead of teammate Tye Simonds (500EXC, 3.38:22) and Yamaha rider Josh Green (YZ450F, 3.40:23).
Price's winning time was six minutes faster than his benchmark from last year's event.
"Another win and I'm so stoked," said Price. "After winning the prologue we started off from the front and I think that definitely helped.
"The dust was thicker in the first part of the race before the track chewed and exposed a little bit of moisture in the sandy parts. In the first couple of laps I put on a really good charge and pulled a bit of a gap, and after that I settled into a comfortable pace in and felt really good. The entire KTM Racing Team has done an amazing job and I can't thank them enough."
Price's fastest lap in the race was 29:33, with Simmonds (29:51) the only other rider to dip below the 30-minute mark. The senior competitors completed seven laps of a 38km circuit.
Another KTM-backed rider, Daniel Sanders, was fourth on his two-stroke 300EXC in 3.43:54, from Beau Ralston (YZ450F, 3.46:24).
