Pretty blamed for fatal crash

An inquest has concluded the South Aussie champion motorcycle racer turned pilot was to blame for a fatal crash in the Adelaide Hills

An inquest has heard motorcycle racing legend Greg Pretty was to blame for a fatal head-on crash with another rider in South Australia, the ABC is reporting.

Pretty died in a head-on crash during a regular weekend ride with friends on roads at Flaxley, south of Adelaide, in January last year.

In documents tendered to the Coroner's Court, Major Crash investigators concluded Pretty had veered onto the wrong side of the road while cornering.

He crashed head-on into Mostyn Walker, 50, where both men died at the scene.

Deputy Coroner Anthony Schapel will deliver his official findings later.
