German engineering and electronics behemoth, a major supplier to the motorcycle industry with a componentry like anti-lock braking systems, blind spot technology and water injection, is adding another pillar: anti-slide technology.
Here’s how it will work. When your wheels start to lose traction – could be a slippery surface or you’ve reached the limits of your ability – and a low side is imminent, a ‘hiss’ from the bike will be a tell-tale sign that your bike is pushing out pressurized gas to keep you on the straight and narrow.

As www.cnet.com describes it, think of a way that a spaceship maneuvers in orbit, using high-pressure gas to provide force.
The Bosch system follows that principle when the tyres have reached their limit – but once it’s been activated you have to start from scratch again. A bit like an airbag in a car.
Is Bosch on the money with this technology?
