Polaris has launched the 2015 RZR XP 1000 Calavera Limited Edition, which will go on sale in Australia early in 2015.
The Spanish word “calavera” translates to “skull” in English. To that end, the 1000 XP has an orange, white and black extreme custom graphics package complete with a skull theme inspired by the cultural events of the Latin American holiday, Day of the Dead.
Only 206 examples will be built, with each being individually numbered. For the record, there are 206 bones in the human body.
The Calavera Limited Edition offers a number of extra add-ons, including an orange madness cab frame, control arms, trailing arms and front bumper, orange beadlock rings with 30-inch mongrel tyres and HEXLR black forged wheels, white rock sliders, full aluminium doors and white aluminium roof.
The Calavera also boasts the standard RZR XP 1000 features including the 110hp Prostar 1000cc engine, electronic power steering, Walker Evans adjustable needle shocks and a new high-flow clutch intake system.
“Earlier this year we launched the RZR XP 1000 in Australia and New Zealand and over the course of this year we have amassed over 200 sales of this incredible high performance machine. Customers continue to make the switch to the RZR XP 1000 and are enjoying the ultimate combination of power, suspension, agility and comfort,” said Perry Morison – Country Manager Polaris Industries Australia.
“With the introduction of the Calavera, Polaris continues to show its lead in design and innovation and has made a RZR that is built to battle the world’s most unforgiving terrains all the while doing it in a unique and individual style. With only 206 Calaveras being built for global markets outside of USA we look forward to getting our hands on a few for what will no doubt be a highly sought after model by our Australian customers” continued Morison.
Price is still to be announced.
