The next Australian Motorcycle Expo will be held from February 20-22 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, with a number of bikes to be seen for the first time in Australia.
Triumph Australia has announced its brand new Thunderbird parallel twin cruiser will make it to the expo, which will be its first appearance outside of Europe.
The belt-driven six-speed 1599cc Thunderbird will be part of the 2010 Triumph range, and is expected to go on sale in Australia around October this year.
The new range of Bonnevilles and updated Daytona 675 wil join the Thunderbird, while other show highlights will include:
BMW's K 1300 series (S, R, GT) and HP2 Sport;
MV Agusta's Brutale 989 R;
Harley-Davidson's XR1200;
Kawasaki's 2009 model ZX-6R;
Yamaha's 2009 YZF-R1 with MotoGP-inspired crossplane crankshaft
Husqvarna's 2009 supermoto range with the new SM 510 R and SM 450 R; and
V8 Supercar champion Jamie Whincup, who will be presented with a brand new 2009 model KTM 450EXC on the QBE Stage at the at 12.00pm on Saturday.
Victory Motorcycles will be officially launched into the Queensland market, and also announce the appointment of Rollies Speed Shop as Victory's dealer for southern Queensland. Rollies joins Victory Mackay, Brisan Motorcycles (Newcastle) and Silver Fern Imports (Auckland) as the first independent franchises to join the Victory network alongside the company owned dealership in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne.
