On Sunday October 15, over 1500 motorcyclists, fully clad from head to toe in pink, took to the roads of New South Wales for the annual Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride. Joining organisers, Girls Ride Out Inc and sponsor Harley-Davidson Australia as part of breast cancer awareness month, the event raised a total of $81,000 for the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute.
A specially-customised pink Harley-Davidson Street Glide led the ride joined by a number of celebrity Harley-Davidson enthusiasts including TV personality James Tobin, MTV VJ Kate Peck and actors Aaron Jeffery and Danielle Cormack -- stars of the hit show Wentworth -- who were each supporting the initiative.
With attendees sporting novelty pink ranging from wigs and feather boas to lycra, the 1500-strong group departed from The Mean Fiddler in Rouse Hill and stopped on a checkpoint at the Colo River before returning to the Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride Fair Day.
The Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride Fair Day included food and coffee stalls, raffles, a Harley-Davidson photo booth and the Harley-Davidson JUMPSTART Rider Experience.
