Pilgrim's progress

Union Jack Motorcycles proprietor Phil Pilgrim is closing his doors at the end of June marking the end of 26 years in business in Brunswick, Melbourne.

The store has concentrated on supplying parts for classic British motorcycles over the years - particularly Meriden Triumphs - as has sold an eclectic mix of new machinery, including Ural, Velorex sidecars, and Royal Enfield. The building has been a bike shop since 1936 and for many years was run by Charlie Letch, a well-known figure in the industry.

Pilgrim will continue to run his spares business by mail order and will be doing some restoration and mechanical work by appointment. His new phone number is (03) 9499 6428.
