Phillips pulls ahead in world enduro

After two second place finishes in Sweden the Tasmanian leads the all-new blue-chip EnduroGP class by 8pts

Aussie Sherco rider Matt Phillips finished with two second place finishes in rounds nine and 10 of the 2016 Enduro World Championship at a very wet weekend in Enkoping, Sweden on June 18-19.

In horrendous weather, Phillips completed both days behind Briton Steve Holcombe (KTM), and now leads the premier EnduroGP class E3O by 8pts (159 to 151) over Finland's Eero Remes, who went 3-5 in Sweden on his TM. Holcombe is third on 138pts.

Phillips is also dominating the E2 class to the tune of 43pts over American Taylor Robert  (KTM), and the other classes are being led by Remes (E1) and Jane Daniels (Husqvarna, women). Australia's Jemma Wilson (Yamaha) is fifth in the women's class.

Six rounds (three weekends) remain in the 2016 championship.
