Peugeot XP400 adventure scooter headed for Australia

The Peugeot Motorcycles XP400 range is expected hit Australian dealerships in spring 2023

Peugeot Motorcycles has added a new model to its lineup, with the XP400 adventure scooter now available for pre-order in Australia.

The Peugeot XP400 is powered by a 400cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is dubbed PowerMotion and produces 36.7hp (26.5kW) at 8150rpm and 38.1Nm of torque at 5400rpm.

Also featured is a suite of electronics including a colour TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, USB and 12V sockets, and anti-theft security including a Smart key and steering lock. The bike also has an under-seat storage compartment and a lockable dual compartment glovebox.

There are two versions of the XP400 with the Allure model designed more for tarmac use and the GT offering a slightly-more dualsport package. However, aside from the GT adding spoked wheels, it appears that the differences between the pair are mostly aesthetic, with the spec sheet reading very similar for both.

Pricing starts at $15,690 ride away for the Allure, while the GT version checks in at $15,990 ride away. Both versions are LAMS approved and come with a two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Peugeot Motorcycles was founded in 1898 by Armand Peugeot, the same pioneer behind the company’s four-wheel namesake.

The French brand was sold by PSA Group to Mahindra in 2014, but still maintains its name and branding in line with the car firm. As of 2023, Peugeot Motorcycles is now owned by a Munich-based company called Mutares.
