Petition against new TAC ad

Not taken by the new campaign? Then you can lend your name to a petition which calls for the TAC to begin ‘meaningful consultation' with the bike community
An on-line petition has been created in response to the new Victorian TAC motorcycle advertisement, which has fashioned an enormous amount of debate among Bikesales Network readers.
The petition reads as follows:
“The TAC is failing motorcyclists in Victoria, wasting tax payer money on campaigns that vilify and blame motorcycle riders, glossing over or completely ignoring the real and complex set of issues around motorcycle safety.

"Arguing for motorcyclists to take personal responsibility for their safety is correct, we riders need to do that.  But at the same time the message needs to go out to other road users to take responsibility for their actions and for the safety of other road users.

"It is time to end the blame game, to stop wasting money and time. It is time for the TAC to start meaningful consultations with a broad representation of the motorcycling community and to address the real issues of motorcycling safety in Victoria.”

If you would like to sign it and also have your say, visit www.change.org/petitions/tac-victoria-get-real-about-rider-safety.
