The Australasian Safari will start in Perth for the first time next year, as the week-long event goes through a number of changes.
As well as the August 1 kick-off from the West Australian capital, new vehicle and driver categories are also being introduced in 2009, with competitors now being urged to submit expressions of interest in the event, as well as taking advantage of early bird discounts.
The Australasian Safari has stand alone classes for cars, motorcycles and - for the first time this year - quads.
It was first held in WA in 2007 after previously being based in the NT and NSW.
Ben Grabham will defend his motorcycle title in 2009 on a KTM after winning this year's race on a Honda.
