Australian rider Broc Parkes and the Italian-based ECHO CRS Honda team have reached a mutual agreement to dissolve their partnership in the 2010 Superbike World Championship.
But Parkes hasn't had to wait too long to find alternative employment, and will deputise for the injured Kawasaki rider Joan Lascorz in the final three rounds of the Supersport World Championship.
And the Aussie is no world supersport upstart. The Newcastle rider has 23 world supersport podiums to his credit, including five race wins, and was runner-up in the championship in 2004 and 2007.
Parkes was released from his superbike contract on August 24, leaving Troy Corser (BMW) will be the only Australian representative in the last three rounds of the championship.
Still only 28 years old, Parkes has been a fixture in the Superbike World Championship paddock since 2001, alternating between the world superbike and world supersport series.
After breaking his leg late in this year's pre-season, Parkes only started his campaign with ECHO in round four, and it's been a grind from the get-go.
The next round is at Nurburgring in Germany this weekend, with Suzuki's Leon Haslam (Suzuki) the only rider capable of denying Max Biaggi (Aprilia) championship glory.
