The Australian Motorcycle Expo on the Gold Coast begins on Friday February 19, and will be home to a number of extreme displays.
As well as the obligatory freestyle motocross displays, eight-time World Freestyle Jet Ski Champion Eric Malone (image #1) will be flown in the United States "to deliver the nation's most insane display of aerial and aqua stunts" says the show's promoter.
Held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Australian Motorcycle Expo is being touted as the nation's largest motorcycle showcase event, with the riverside Yamaha Action Arena expected to draw big crowds.
As Eric Malone will be attempting a number of high-flying aquatic tricks (backflips, barrel rolls etc), he will be joined by leading Australian rider and Gold Coast local, Jon 'Wire' Cooke.
Mark Petersen from the Australian Motorcycle Expo said, "This year we've put together the ultimate land and water entertainment program, combining freestyle motocross and jet skiing.
"The way we've laid out the compound will also mean that visitors won't have to go far to see some of the best riders across three different disciplines in action.
"Along with the freestyle motocross and jet ski demonstrations, the current Australian Superbike Champion, Josh Waters will be at the event signing autographs on the Friday and Saturday. There will also be a range of giveaways and promotions and all those attending the event will have the chance to win a $40,000 custom Chopper.
"It will be the best place to buy a new motorbike, scooter or jet-ski with a range of manufacturers already indicating that they will be offering incredible discounts," revealed Petersen.
The always popular freestyle motocross demonstrations will return in 2010, with Showtime FMX riders Brad Burch, Chucky Norris and Matty McFerran (image #2) showing off their skills.
There will even be stunt riders zipping around on minibikes, performing the kind of stunts expected to get as many laughs as gasps. The Brown's Grafix Mini Bike Crew will be displaying their skills on compact 50cc minibikes, which should be good for a lark.
