GasGas has launched an overhauled motocross range for 2024, utilising the same platform as its KTM and Husqvarna stablemates.
It is the first major update for the Spanish-born brand under KTM ownership. Its motocross range debuted in late 2020 alongside a new enduro range. The enduro models have also been overhauled for 2024.
The 2024 motocross models are new from the ground up, with an all-new chassis, upgraded suspension, new four-stroke and two-stroke motors, and plenty more.
Throttle body fuel injection has been added to the two-stroke models, while traditional premix has replaced the oil injection system on the previous generation. Also new for the two-stroke models is electronic exhaust control, which affects how the exhaust ports open in a bid to maximise power and improve durability.
The four-stroke engine has also been overhauled and is now mounted in the same position across all three capacities to improve handling.
All five models in the range – including the MC 125, MC 250, MC 250F, MC 350F, and MC 450F – benefit from an all-new frame, upgraded WP XACT suspension with AER technology, new forged triple clamps, high-performance Braktec clutch and brakes, new footpegs, a Neken handlebar, and new bodywork.
GasGas also offers the option of a map selector switch (which is standard on KTM and Husqvarna equivalents). By installing the map switch on the four-stroke models, riders will also get launch control, traction control, and quickshift. The map switch is standard for the MC 125 and an option for the MC 250 two-stroke models, but it only includes two engine maps.
GasGas Australia is yet to announce a local arrival and pricing, but expect to see the bikes hit dealer floors before the end of 2023.
