
The company suggests punters thinking of riding one this summer might be wise to plan a little ahead.
"We've been pleasantly surprised by the demand for them," said Triumph's Paul Grocutt, "To the point where we've now got a backlog of a three months - or about 140 bikes -- while the factory catches up.
"The road tests have been very positive and we made an effort to get a fleet of demonstrators out to our dealers, but that means we're going to have to be a little patient when it comes to meeting demand."
Triumph says the company is lining up for another record year in Australia, with around 1000 bikes old in the first five months - almost its entire sales figure for the year in 2001.
The Daytona 675 is Triumph's first triple in the middleweight super sports class and is priced at $14,890 (plus ORC).
