One motorcycle you won't see in 2011

Still come electric blues, and a few prized machines we won't see racing at the highest level

Mark Fattore
I've taken a slightly different slant on this one, bemoaning the fact that the 2011 Australian Superbike Championship is shaping up as a two-brand fight between Honda and Suzuki. Kawasaki won't be officially involved with its all-new ZX-10, Yamaha has still not committed with its YZF-R1, Ducati (1198R) is out again after just returning to the scene in 2010, and KTM doesn't look like backing up. That's a shame, as I still reckon there's a place for an inclusive and relevant motorsport presence in marketing budgets.

A fully electric motorcycle with a working 300km range between charges. But when we do, look out -- the biking landscape will have changed forever!

An invisible one? Okay, my jokes are not good. Something I'd like to see but probably won't is an affordable $3000 electric scooter. Squirt to work, zip home, charge overnight. There are squillions of them in China but it's unlikely they would be offered in the Australian market at such affordable prices.
