Ohlins gets a handle on monkey bike
Retro-styled Honda minibike earns major suspension upgradesThe surging popularity of small motorbikes has seen suspension tuners Ohlins weave its magic with a dedicated suspension update for the MSZ125 “monkey bike”.
The Ohlins front damping kit includes new top caps to adjust the front springs, which Ohlins has upgraded to carry riders over 80kg.
There are two rear suspension options for the MSZ125: emulsion-style twin rear shocks with adjustable preload or a premium set-up with twin piggyback reservoirs and compression, preload and rebound adjustment.
Öhlins Asia R&D manager, Alex D’Antoni, says: “The Honda Monkey proved to be a fun-packed project for us! Applying hi-tech suspension designs sharpens handling and maximises the crucially important ‘feel’ factor – two essentials when negotiating the hazards of a daily commute through the urban jungle.”
