O'Halloran to race in British Superbike in 2009

Three Aussies now confirmed for premier class

Twenty-year-old Jason O'Halloran will join compatriots Josh Brookes and Glen Richards in the 2009 British Superbike Championship.

The 2007 Australian Supersport champion has been signed by SMT Honda, after impressing the team during the last three rounds of this year's British title.

O'Halloran scored points in five of the six races he contested, which was enough proof for SMT that it was onto a good thing.

O'Halloran will be based near the SMT headquarters at Skelmersdale, 20km north-east of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Brookes and Richards will both ride factory Hondas in 2009 for HM Plant. The three Aussies will be looking to become the first British champion since Troy Bayliss in 1999.
