2014 marks 50 years since the Sydney-based NF Importers became the Australian distributor for Ducati – the longest in Ducati history.
During the recent Ducati global dealer conference in Sorrento, Italy, the milestone was acknowledged and celebrated with a very special presentation by Ducati Motor Holding CEO, Mr Claudio Domenicali and Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mr Cristiano Silei. The pair awarded Warren Fraser (MD) and Warren Lee (CEO) with a commemorative plaque.
“It was a very special and proud moment for Warren Fraser and me,” said Warren Lee, the CEO of NF Importers (aka Ducati Australia & New Zealand). “Warren and I naturally have had a very long and passionate involvement with Ducati where we have seen the company and brand evolve to where it is today: as the most exciting and dynamic in the industry.
“To be recognised for this milestone by Claudio and Cristiano and to share the moment with our global Ducati dealer family was as I say, something very special and we must also sincerely thank our dedicated and passionate company staff, our dealers and most importantly our thousands of valued customers.”
During the conference Ducati and NF Importers also took the opportunity to renew the milestone relationship by re-signing the next five-year distribution contract between the two companies.
The ‘NF” part of NF Importers is an acronym for Norm Fraser, who started the Fraser Motorcycles empire in 1955 in a shed at the rear of his house in suburban Newcastle.
