New Zeros electrify Aussie streets
Zero Motorcycles has launched Australia's first volume production street-legal electric motorcycles - the S supermoto and DS dualsportZero Motorcycle Australia recently launched the S and DS, which the company is billing as
Australia's first street-legal volume production electric motorcycles.
The S is a supermoto-style machine that Zero Motorcycles says has been "built to take on urban
environments with the occasional detour". The model sees an aircraft-grade alloy frame wrapped around
the firm's proprietary 'Z-Force' power pack, which Zero says can propel the 122kg machine to a top
speed of 110km/h, with a range of up to 80km.
The DS is a dualsport model designed to handle both road and trail. With the same essential
design as the S, including the same frame and powerpack, the DS also features chunky dual-purpose rubber, a larger 17in front rim (versus 16in), and an extra inch of front suspension travel
(9in, versus 8in for the Zero S).
The models are available through Zero Motorcycles Australia's dealer network, with both models priced
at $12,995 (plus on-road costs).
