New Yamaha YZF-R6 looming?

A new Yamaha teaser hints at a new supersport bike in the pipeline, with all set to be revealed on October 14, 2016
A brief YouTube video clip from Yamaha is whetting appetites for a revamped supersport bike, most likely a heavily updated incarnation of Team Blue's middleweight rocket, the YZF-R6.
Giving little away other than the fact the new bike is an offering from 'R World', along with a spine-tingling exhaust note, the clip shows very little of the machine as it carves up a race track.
The current R6 is powered by a 599cc in-line four-cylinder engine good for a claimed 122hp and 65.7Nm, all in a svelte package weighing in at 189kg wet. However, the model has changed little in recent years and is a strong candidate for a significant update.
It's likely the model's Deltabox frame will be tweaked along with the engine, which will no doubt benefit from a raft of advanced electronics.
Here are the teaser clips we've seen so far.
