Sherco has announced that its new 2019 range of Enduro models has landed Down Under, and grabbing the headlines is the all-new 500 SEF – a model that marks the brand's entry into the open-class four-stroke category.
"The 500 SEF is a hot topic not only for Sherco but for the entire off-road market," stated Sherco Australia's Stephen Tuff.
"The media has been hungry for 500 SEF news and it has been widely reported that the dirt bike community is thirsty for a new offering in the big-bore four-stoke class. The 500 SEF is a direct result of Australian customer demand. We put forward the requests for the big-bore thumper to the Sherco Factory and they delivered. We're incredibly excited about this bike."
The 2019 Enduro line-up also sees both Racing and Factory models available side by side for the full model year.
"Traditionally, Sherco released three enduro models at different stages of the year, beginning with Racing models closely followed by the celebratory Six Days models and finally the Factory models at the mid-point of the year," Tuff said.
"The new timeline of releasing Racing and Factory models side-by-side for the entire model year gives customers the complete offering right away."
The 2019 model range consists of seven machines spread across two-stroke and four-stroke configurations. Introduced in 2018, the 125 SE-R joins the 250 SE-R and 300 SE-R in the two-stroke category, all of which receive a number of updates for 2019. The 250 and 300 in particular have a new ignition system, engine cylinder, combustion chamber, cylinder head and power-valve, along with a new exhaust.
The four-stroke line-up comprises the 250 SEF-R, 300 SEF-R, 450 SEF-R and the new 500 SEF-R. In addition to the introduction of the 500 SEF-R, the 250 SEF-R and 300 SEF-R have a number of cylinder head and mapping upgrades, improving power and engine response.
The Factory model range has been revamped for 2019 with the inclusion of KYB suspension, blue rims, Galfer brake discs, a bi-compound rear sprocket, Factory graphics, full Akrapovic exhaust system on the four-stroke models, full FMF exhaust system on the two-strokes, AXP skid plate, dual-colour Domino grips and a light-weight lithium-ion Shido battery.
"The introduction of 48mm KYB closed-cartridge fork and KYB shock has ramped up the level of Factory model enquiry to a new high," Tuff said.
Bolstering the enduro offering from Sherco is the introduction of the SC cross county models for the first time in Australia. Available on a pre-order basis only, the SC models come equipped for closed-course competition sans lights and indicators. The SC models come equipped with Factory model upgrades including KYB suspension and performance exhausts.
The all-new 500 SEF will arrive in Australia mid-September, while all other Sherco 2019 enduro Racing and Factory models are available now from all authorised Sherco dealers.
