New road circuit planned for Wagga

A proposal has been submitted to the local council for a motor racing and driver training centre, with an official opening slated for sometime in 2014
A 2.7km driver (and we presume rider, too) training centre and motor racing circuit has been proposed for the major southern NSW city of Wagga Wagga, with planning permits currently before the council.
Public responses to the development application have been open for a few months now, and if the green light is given the new precinct will be located at 327 Wokolena Road, Alfredtown. The circuit will be an eight-turn layout (four right and four left) and vehicles – at least for competition purposes – will be run in an anti-clockwise direction.
One of the project’s backers is current road racing historic competitor, Mick Neason. Pending council approval, Neason plans to have the circuit up and running sometime in 2014.
The Bikesales Network will keep you posted on any news, but if you’re on absolute tenterhooks you can always visit the City of Wagga Wagga website for details on approved development applications.
