The helmet is a tribute to Misano. It's a track that lies just a few miles from Valentino Rossi's home, and where he started his racing career.
The writing on the chin guard comes from a famous Italian advertising jingle that has become a motto: ‘Misano gives us a hand’ (“Misano, ci dà una mano” in Italian).
The yellow number 46 and AGV logo sit above the nape of the neck. These two symbols have accompanied Valentino throughout his career. The number 58 is a posthumous dedication to his great friend Marco Simoncelli.
The hand prints on the helmet belong to the skilful hands of the Team Movistar Yamaha MotoGP mechanics. Meanwhile, the "usual suspects" are still there: the paw prints of Valentino's beloved dogs, Cesare and Cecilia, and those of his red cat Rossano. There are also lipstick kisses from the women in his life: his Mum Stefania and his girlfriend Linda.
The fingerprint on the helmet is of his friend and designer Aldo Drudi, who is his constant companion in these creative adventures.
AGV helmets are imported into Australia by Cassons. For more information on the latest Rossi helmet, click here.
