New product: Pirelli Scorpion 554 MX tyre
Promises improved traction in mid-hard terrain, with prices starting at $99. Any buy before the end of September, 2012 for an extra sweetenerPirelli has launched its new Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554 tyre to Australian riders, which replaces the MX Mid Hard 454 as the company’s motocross racing tyre for maximum performance on mid-hard terrain.
The 554 has a new tread pattern which is claimed to perform at its best on intermediate surfaces such as grass or dry ground and medium-hard compact dirt and stones, conditions often experienced at off-road tracks. And the compound is said to minimise knob tearing.
Along with 110/90-19 and 120/80-19 rear sizes, a new 110/85-19 size rear has been specifically developed for MX2 races and 250cc four-stroke engines, complete with a 10 percent reduction in unsprung mass
The new 554 is available in the following sizes:
Front
- 80/100-21
- 90/100-21
Rear
- 110/85-19
- 110/90-19
- 120/80-19
Pricing for front tyres start at $99, with rear prices starting at $119.
