New product: Michelin Commander II
A new tyre for custom motorcycles, available in 13 different sizesMichelin has released a new custom motorcycle tyre – the Commander II.
The manufacturer claims that it creates a new standard in durability – up to 40,000km on the rear tyre of a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic in an independent test -- without compromising wet weather grip, manoeuvrability or stability.
The tyre’s more rigid, high-density carcass is claimed to improve manoeuvrability, while the aramid fibre crown ply of the rear tyre enhances resistance and lightness for impeccable stability, even at high speeds.
Thirteen sizes are now available (see attached image), while two other sizes will be released at the beginning of next year.
The Commander II’s competitors include the Metzeler ME880 and Dunlop D407/D408.
