The zumo XT also features a bright 5.5-inch colour display that Garmin claim can be viewed in any lighting conditions. It’s also glove friendly, has a HD resolution and can be used in landscape or portrait. A seemingly endless list of features will give riders a wide array of navigation options. In keeping with the adventure theme, the Garmin Adventurous Routing feature finds the most thrilling and scenic routes. Preloaded topographic maps show public land boundaries, 4x4 roads and more.
The Garmin Explore feature also helps adventure seekers, by allowing them to plan trips and access routes, tracks and waypoints across their electronic devices.
Other features include BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, preloaded on-road and off-road maps, a route recording function, Tripadvisor and Foursquare connectivity, alerts, Garmin Real Directions and music compatibility. Throw in hands-free calling, live traffic and weather, inReach compatibility and the ability to share your favourite rides via the Garmin Drive app, and you have yourself a pretty handy little contraption.
When you buy the Garmin zumo XT you’ll get a motorcycle mount and hardware, plus a power cable, as well as an automotive suction cup mount, power cable and charging cable.
The device weighs in at 262g and has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The display is a multi-touch, glass HD TFT screen. As well as the 5.5-inch display, there is an option to get a smaller unit with a 4.3-inch display.
