New product: DVS suspension components

Team Honda Racing has teamed up with Melbourne performance house Motologic to produce the new DVS range of suspension components

Team Honda Racing recently debuted its recently released DVS range of fork and shock absorber suspension components to great effect at round one of the Australian

Superbike Championship, held together with the opening round of the Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island, Victoria, over February 24 to 26.

Utilised by Honda racers Wayne Maxwell and Jamie Stauffer in the Superbike category and Josh Hook in the Supersport category, the Team Manager of Team Honda Racing, Paul Free - also boss of

Melbourne motorcycle performance house Motologic, which worked in collaboration with Team Honda Racing to develop the range - said the successful outing well and truly

underlined the positive benefits of the DVS components.

Maxwell guided his Honda CBR1000RR to the fastest overall qualifying time, missing out on Superpole by a fraction of a second but winning race two, while Stauffer

piloted his CBR1000RR to third overall for the weekend. In the Aussie Supersports Hook was first home aboard his CBR600RR in race one and he came third in race

two, finishing second overall for the round.

As their name suggests, the DVS (or Dual Valve Systems) components utilise two seperate valves that control the direction of movement for both rebound and compression

damping. Free says this delivers a greater level of control of the flow of oil past the suspension shimming, which equates with increased grip and feel for the rider.

Free said he's been thrilled with the outcome. "It's been a very steep learning curve for all involved in the DVS program," he said. "The product is now at such a

level that it can compete head to head with the biggest and best suspension brands in the world, and thanks must go to the Team Honda Racing riders Jamie Stauffer and

Wayne Maxwell for their invaluable feedback," he added.

DVS components are available to suit various Honda, Ducati and BMW models. For more information contact Motologic, tel: (03) 9357 9705 or visit www.motologic.com.au
