The 2022 Honda Africa Twin range has an all-new look, while also receiving some practical upgrades and refinements that improve on the previous generations.
Both the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports receive new striking new graphics dubbed ‘Big Logo’ (base model) and ‘Cracked Terrain’ (Adventure Sports) respectively.

The standard model also gains an aluminium rear carrier as standard, while the Adventure Sports model gets a new 110mm lower 5-stage adjustable windscreen that improves visibility while still providing protection from the elements.
Additionally, the DCT versions of both models have been refined, with new settings that are designed to deliver smoother handling in the first two gears from a standing start and at low speeds.
Elsewhere, the Africa Twin pair retains all the features from the previous model including a six-axis IMU and full suite of electronics, a TFT touch screen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Showa electronic suspension, a large fuel tank and cruise control.
Powered by a 1084cc SOHC parallel-twin engine, the Honda Africa Twin has been a popular choice for adventure riders since its launch in 2016. The DCT version in particular has sold well and Honda claims that 200,000 DCT-equipped motorcycles have been sold since the system was first introduced on the VFR1200F in 2009.
There is currently no word on when the new 2022 Africa Twin models will arrive in Australia, or what pricing will be. The current base Africa Twin starts at $22,646 ride away, while the range-topping Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT with electronic suspension checks in at $29,630 ride away.
