New Kawasaki Australia MD

Mr Ken Hashiba is the new commander in chief at Kawasaki's local outpost, after many years of managerial experience in Japan and abroad

Kawasaki Motors Australia has a new Japanese Managing Director, Ken Hashiba.

Hashiba-san replaces Ted Mori, who recently returned home to Japan after almost seven years of service to Kawasaki in Australia.

Hashiba enters his new role as Kawasaki Motors Australia Managing Director with many years of managerial experience both in Japan and abroad. He was the Executive Administrator at Canadian Kawasaki Motors Inc. for five years before taking on the role of Sales Manager for USA, Canada and Australia within the Motorcycle and Engine Company at Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) Japan.

“It’s an honour for me to be in Australia, especially because I’m a big Mad Max fan plus the people are very friendly here,” said Mr Hasbiba. “Australia is very tolerant of people like me who speak English as a second language so I feel very comfortable. This is my first time in Australia and I’m already a fan.”

Hashiba is a motorcycle enthusiast, both road and off-road, with a particular affection for the 1984 Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R A1 which he still owns in Japan.
