New Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 introduced for 2021

The new Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 and a restyled Fat Boy 114 headline a reshuffled Softail range for 2021

As part of its virtual global launch event, Harley-Davidson has announced that the popular Street Bob model will receive a displacement upgrade for 2021.

The 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob, which is part of the Softail range, will receive a Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. The new motor will add more grunt to complement the Street Bob's stripped-down style and no-nonsense performance.

Pricing for the updated Street Bob will start at $23,995 ride away, although exact arrival dates and availability are yet to be announced.

Replacing the previous Milwaukee 107 V-twin powerplant, the new 114 engine, which features in other Harley models, puts out roughly 161Nm of torque at 3000rpm. Harley says the bike is 9 per cent quicker from 0-60mph, and 13 per cent quicker from 60-80mph in fifth gear.

Stripped-down style

Other features of the 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob include a stripped-down style, including chopped fender, mini-ape handlebars, a 13.2L fuel tank, black steel-laced wheels, and a blacked-out engine with bright chrome push rod tubes.

The bike is suspended by a dual bending valve front fork and an adjustable rear monoshock. The Street Bob also features a pillion seat, minimalist digital instrumentation, a USB charging point, keyless ignition and a security system.

There are a number colour options including Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl, Baja Orange, and Deadwood Green, with each version featuring the Harley-Davidson Script logo over the secondary colour with the classic ‘Number One’ logo on the fuel tank.

Wait, there's more

In addition to the new Street Bob 114, Harley-Davidson has also restyled the Fat Boy 114 with brilliant chrome, giving it an overall brighter look. The restyling includes chrome engine covers, exhaust, front end, and plenty of other chrome details.

Harley-Davidson also announced it is dropping the Low Rider, Deluxe and FDXR 114 models from the Softail range for 2021.

It has been a big twelve months for Harley-Davidson, as it fights to restore itself to former glory. The company appointed a new CEO, Jochen Zeitz, in February 2020, and also launched its first electric bike, the Livewire. Next month, Harley will also reveal its first dual-sport bike, the Pan America.

The updated Softail range was announced as part of the Harley-Davidson Global Virtual Launch which saw a number of styling updates, plus plenty of new options and accessories.
